Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has caught up with Frenchman Kylian Mbappe in terms of the number of goals scored for the national team.
Sport.Biz reports that this happened during Norway's match against Côte d'Ivoire in the 1/16 finals of the 2026 World Cup.
The game ended 2:1 in favor of Norway.
Haaland scored in the 86th minute of the match. This was the 60th goal scored by the Norwegian for the national team. Mbappe has also scored the same number of goals for the French national team, but Haaland has played 48 fewer games.
