Previously, England won the opening matches of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, defeating Tunisia (2:1) and Iran (6:2) respectively.
The 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Argentina is the current world champion.
