Elgiz Karamli, who promoted Shafa football team to the Azerbaijan Premier League, will not continue his career at Mingachevir.
Idman.Biz reports that the regional club has offered the 34-year-old specialist the position of head coach.
Although talks were held between the parties, an agreement was not reached on financial issues, according to sportal.az, and therefore Karamli's appointment to Mingachevir did not take place.
Elgiz Karamli made Shafa the champion of the First League in the 2025/2026 season and promoted the team to the Premier League. The young specialist parted ways with the Baku club after the season ended.
Mingachevir, on the other hand, finished the First League in second place and reached the playoffs for a Premier League ticket. The regional representative lost 0-2 to Gabala in the decisive match and failed to advance to the elite league.
