Former Bayern player Stefan Effenberg has criticized former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for his statement about Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Idman.Biz reports that Klopp, who previously worked as an expert on German television, said on the air that Nagelsmann "for now" is the coach of the German national team and "for now" selects the team.
In the first match of the 2026 World Cup, the Germans defeated Curacao 7-1.
"It can't be like that. He's addressing millions of viewers. And in the meantime, he's laughing. Such comments can be made while drinking beer in a bar, but definitely not in front of millions of viewers. This is unacceptable," Effenberg said in an interview with "Sport1".
