Spain national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has not ruled out the possibility of winger Lamine Yamal participating in the team's first World Cup match.
According to **Idman.Biz**, it was previously reported that the Barcelona player might miss the start of the 2026 World Cup due to an injury sustained on April 22 while taking a penalty kick in their 1-0 victory against Celta Vigo in La Liga.
"Neither Lamine, nor Nico [Williams], nor Victor [Muñoz] will play tomorrow [against Iraq]. We are confident that Lamine will be ready on the 15th. If things continue this way, he might be ready, but this does not guarantee he will play. We will assess the situation as it develops," Mundo Deportivo quoted de la Fuente as saying.
Spain's first match in the 2026 World Cup will be held on June 15. They will face Cape Verde.
