Sport.Biz reports that Lionel Messi, the player who has scored the most goals in World Cup history (18 goals), is 23 goals behind Ronaldo. He scored 122 goals for the Argentina national team.
Ronaldo is also the top scorer for his national team in the World Cup (10 goals), surpassing his compatriot Eusebio (9 goals), and is the only player over 40 to score a double in the World Cup.
