Carlo Ancelotti has received a 12-month prison sentence for tax evasion during his time as Real Madrid coach in 2014.
İdman.biz reports that, according to Spanish sources, his sentence will be suspended.
The Italian specialist has been fined 386,000 euros. At a hearing held on April 2nd and 3rd at the Madrid Provincial Court, Ancelotti defended himself, stating that he had no intention of deceiving the tax authorities. The 66-year-old coach requested an acquittal, saying that he followed the instructions of the club and his advisors. He asked for mitigating circumstances to be considered if he was found guilty.
According to the decision of the Madrid Provincial Court, the Italian coach has been acquitted of possible tax payments related to income from image rights in 2015.
It should be noted that the head of Real Madrid in 2013-2015 and 2021-2025 has won the Champions League three times, the UEFA Super Cup once, and the FIFA Club World Cup twice, La Liga, the Spanish King's Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.
