Ross Barkley scored the only goal for the visitors in the 64th minute.
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes stood out with two assists. The Portuguese footballer now has 16 assists in the current Premier League season, breaking the club record. The previous record was held by David Beckham in the 1999/2000 season.
The Premier League record for the most assists in a single season is held by Thierry Henry (20; 2002/03 season) and Kevin De Bruyne (20; 2019/20 season).
After this victory, Manchester United strengthened their position in third place in the league table with 54 points. Aston Villa is in fourth place with 51 points.
