Arsenal are in talks to sign Aston Villa's attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers, who could become the club's record transfer if a deal is reached.
Arsenal have started negotiations with the 23-year-old's representatives and are looking to accelerate the transfer process in the coming days. Rogers is reportedly open to joining Mikel Arteta's side and progress has been made on personal terms.
The main obstacle in the talks is the transfer fee, with Aston Villa demanding £130 million (267 million manat) for the England international.
If the transfer goes through at this price, Rogers will become Arsenal's most expensive player in history, surpassing the current record held by Declan Rice, who was signed from West Ham for £105 million in 2023.
Rogers was a key player for Aston Villa last season, playing a crucial role in the team's UEFA Europa League victory and being named the tournament's best player.
The attacking midfielder joined Aston Villa from Middlesbrough in February 2024 for £8 million and has a contract with the Birmingham club until the summer of 2031.
