Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has explained the reason for keeping forward Mohamed Salah on the bench in the Premier League match against West Ham in the 13th round. Sport24.az reports that he made a statement about this on the official website of the Reds:
"I have been asked about this before. Questions like this arise every time Virts, Isak, Ekitike or Salah are on the bench. This is normal, but we must not forget that Salah has had an incredible career at this club. He has an equally bright future ahead of him. Salah is a fantastic player. We will play four games in 10 days and I have 14-15 players at my disposal.
From time to time I have to make decisions about the squad and put together the optimal squad for a particular match. At West Ham, the right-back is constantly attacking, and the winger is moving to the center. The wing defender plays in the center. I think I made the right decision to keep Salah in reserve."
It should be noted that Liverpool won the match against West Ham with a score of 2:0.
