Mass naturalization is not planned in the Azerbaijan U-20 national team.
Idman.Biz reports that this was stated by AFFA Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev at a press conference.
"A player of Azerbaijani origin may be involved. Or one of the parents may be purely Azerbaijani. The football player must have been born and raised in Azerbaijan. This is a basic condition. But again, the naturalized football player must have a great desire to play in our national team. We must feel that he has a desire. But mass naturalization, for example, the naturalization of 17 out of 20 football players, is not expected," said the AFFA Executive Vice President.
It should be noted that the U-20 national team will participate in the FIFA U-20 World Championship, which will be held in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in 2027.
