Camilo Nunez, a midfielder for the Argentinean football club San Telmo, has died while undergoing knee surgery.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that the press service of the San Telmo club, which plays in Argentina's second strong division, has released information about the unexpected death of the 18-year-old football player.
The Argentine underwent surgery to restore stability to his joint after meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries, but everything ended tragically.
Neither the club nor local authorities have explained why Nunez died during the operation. An investigation is currently underway into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Nunez joined San Telmo in 2022. He grew up in the academies of famous Argentine clubs Boca Juniors and Independiente.
